The Challenge
- Western Union needed a mechanism which motivated employees to discuss existing and new services with customers in order to increase product awareness and sales.
The Solution
- Create excitement among store employees by introducing an Employee Incentive Promotion, whereby each office could win prizes based on their knowledge of Western Union products, services and sales transaction growth.
- To facilitate participation and drive engagement, bi-weekly emails were sent to each store so they could measure their progress throughout the promotion period and to see what prizes they qualify for.
- An additional component of the promotion included specific employee awards based on individual achievement.
The Results
- Average store revenue growth throughout the promotion period approximated 27%.
- The promotion generated significant employee awareness and participation.
