Our September Employee Spotlight shines on Account Executive Beth Herman. Beth is often the person that winners hear from when they win a prize in a Marden-Kane promotion. Get to know more about her!
Explain Your Role at MK:
I began my role at MK ten years ago as a consultant focused on one account and after a few years I joined the MK team full time. Joining the MK team gave me the opportunity to work with several different accounts, each with their own goals, challenges and expectations. Since I work on a variety of accounts, from sweeps, to contests, to loyalty programs, I have had the pleasure of managing most programs from beginning to end. I’ve drafted rules, notified winners and fulfilled A LOT of prizes. As you can imagine, the best part of the process is hearing someone’s reaction to winning a prize, from a lawn chair to a $1,000,000 prize, the excitement in their voice never grows old!
Favorite Memory at MK:
My favorite memory at MK is when I attended a showcase for a client and we had the opportunity to encourage participation in a loyalty program. The entrants were given an opportunity to spin a wheel for a chance to win a prize. Just the sound of the spinning wheel created such excitement we had lines of people waiting to play. Most of the time we are on the backend of a promotion…this was a chance to be out front and meet the entrants face to face.
Something Most People Don’t Know About You:
I was in a national TV commercial. My father worked for an artificial Christmas tree company and we filmed the commercial in a live Christmas tree forest with fake snow in the middle of the summer. It was my “2 minutes” of fame!
What Are Your 3 Favorite Things (foods, books, movies, etc):
My three favorite things are:
- Family adventures (next big one is a Safari…can’t wait);
- My furry family (three dogs, 2 lizards and lots of fish); and
- Party planning!
Your Proudest Moment:
I know this has been said before but my proudest moment is every day when I see my kids – they are my everything!
Last Book You Read:
I will be honest, it’s been a long time since I read a book, but I often spend time reading over the shoulder of my daughter who likes to read about the Holocaust. I know it’s a strange interest for a child/tween but based on our conversations about the books (and her daily self-less acts) I see what a compassionate person she has become.
