MISSING: Star Wars themed 1977 Toyota Celica GT

A long, long time ago, in the ancient Marden-Kane offices in Manhattan, we gave away a car in a sweepstakes. But not just any car. This was a tricked out 1977 Toyota Celica GT, with a Star Wars custom paint package, powered by The Force.

Help us find this missing 1977 Star Wars car

These are not the droids you’re looking for, but have you seen this car?

This sweet ride was the Grand Prize in a STAR WARS Space Fantasy Sweepstakes run by the “Star Wars Corp.”, Twentieth Century Fox, and Wonder Bread, and administered by Marden-Kane. The car was described as “A Toyota Celica Liftback. Standard featured include MacPherson front strut suspension, power front disc brakes, AM-FM stereo radio and modifications include a moon roof, special upholstery, custom wheels and tires, and a super STAR WARS paint job.”

Star Wars Space Fantasy Sweeps Missing Car Search

Can you imagine how awesome it would have been in 1977 to have driven this around town?

Maybe it was something like this (complete with rainbow jumpsuit and Farrah Fawcett hair, of course):

Star Wars Car Sweeps Missing Car: Was This You?

Dude, where’s my car?

And can you imagine what this car could be worth now?

This is way bigger than finding a 1979 Kenner Millenium Falcon still in the box.

And George Lucas’ people would love to know what happened to their one-of-a-kind car.

Unfortunately, our records don’t go back that far so we can’t track the winner down.  There have been a few people who have tried to find it (and have instead found a bit of a shady side story on the paint job folks). But to no avail.

So now the hunt is on to track this car down for real.

Have you seen it in your area? Have you heard any stories about it? Is it hidden in your garage? Can your Jedi abilities help us find it?

Let us know! There is no official reward for information at this time, but imagine the story you could tell – this could be a better plot than Fan Boys in the making!
